课程概述

This course examines how modern digital marketing integrates technology, creativity, and analytics to shape discovery, competition, and customer experience across digital and physical channels. Through a progression from foundational strategy to content, ecosystem integration, and artificial intelligence, the course explores how brands build trust, deliver value, and drive measurable growth in the contemporary digital marketplace. Module 1 introduces the foundations of modern digital marketing strategy (i.e., how digitization reshapes discovery, competition, and consumer experience across online and physical channels). Module 2 builds on this foundation by exploring how content is designed for multi-audience environments where people, algorithms, and generative AI all “read” and respond to information differently. Module 3 examines the integration of paid, organic, and influencer activities into unified ecosystems that turn storytelling and trust into measurable growth. Module 4 concludes by showing how artificial intelligence transforms service delivery, where data, empathy, and automation combine to create more personalized and anticipatory customer experiences. Together, these modules chart how technology, creativity, and analytics converge to define success in the modern digital marketplace....

I really think this is the best Introduction for any beginner who needs to start learning about Digital Analytics. Thank you Prof Kevin for all the information and resources you provided us !

Excellent information and presented in an easy-to-understand format. My only reason for not giving this course five stars was how many examples and details were out of date and not current to today.

Compliments: The course introduced me to a number of reporting and research tools that I was not aware of. I have also become a great fan of Avinash Kaushik and his blog in the process.

Criticism: The lecturer could have gone into more details in many areas of his course as opposed to just assuming that the prescribed reading material had been read. Many detailed points were glanced over and one prescribed reading material (Peterson, E. T. (2004). Web Analytics demystified) was written in 2004 and as a result much of the information presented in this text book is very outdated.

This stage of the course i feel could be summed up to just one week worth of work. It mainly revolves around ZMOT and best marketing analytics and data collection techniques and rawly around 30 minutes of content, and the last week was more of a "let's sum up". Compared to the first stage where every single week had a new subject, with lots of content this one i feel, just didn't cut it. I do feel I learned a lot from it...and i plan to finish the specialization, but this one should be aided as part of another another module.

Although the course provides some good material I found the information to be dated (2020). For example it mentions top social media sites and does not include TikTok which is one of the most important ad channels today. Also, for the lesson quizzes are locked if you take the course in audit mode so you have no idea if you are learning the correct information. I understand the end of course quizzes being locked but not the practice quizzes.

Quiet interesting presentation of everything, I was impressed at first and graded 5 stars, however, after just one lesson of Prof. Mike Yao in Digital Media and Marketing Strategies I got better understanding of research and data then I got from both courses of Prof. Kevin Hartman. Course is still very good, defiantly worth seeing, but it's lacks in practical explanations so you are kind of still in a fog after it.

I enjoyed the course, it was very detailed, it had great and interesting points. For me it was a bit too advanced, I would've liked if they explained what data actually is a bit more. However the teacher explained everything very well, I liked the tasks.

If you already know a few things about digital analytics, then I absolutely recommend taking this course.

What I don't like is the strongly recommend reading for this course is not for free, I have already paid monthly for this course but still have to spend money for his book in order to fully understand the lesson. I feel like the professor try to sell his book. I can't find it from any bookstores in my country, not every one prefer reading e-book.

The concepts introduced in this course are good. However, the instructor should really update the content which seems to be shot and compiled somewhere around 2016 and needs updating in 2020. Also, some of the tools mentioned no longer exists and some links are broken too. Overall the course needs some maintenance to stay relevant.

I was hoping the visuals during the lectures would have been better. It helps me in retaining information and making notes when things are labelled more clearly. Also the analytics part 1 and 2 were great except that it could have been better divided. I felt like I could not keep up with the different approaches and measurements.

Unfortunately some of the reference articles and reaadings are way too old for a course to be taken in late 2020. These should be reviewed and updated. There is a serious problem with plagiarism and there isn't much clarity as to what Coursera is doing to fix the problem, or if reports lead to any actions.

This is a very basic course. The contents do not cover a whole lot of ground. I personally did feel that there is a lot of repetition and this course did not help much . I somehow feel this course and the next ( the practical one ) could have been combined into one. Otherwise, not worth 2 courses of money.

For an introductory course it is ok, however can't help get the feeling that the material is just skimmed through. In an effort to structure each session in the same way, detail has been missed out. Practical examples and hands-on exercises are very inadequate. Not impressed.

A great course. I rated a 3 star as I found heavy to follow given I do not come from a tech background, I found the learning journey steep. Still great course and useful for a beginner - intermediate learner wishing to strengthen / gain digital analytics knowledge.
