🌟 Empowering, Insightful, and Aligned with My Purpose As a mental health worker and aspiring Psychiatric Nurse, taking the Mental Health Professional course through MedCerts was one of the most affirming decisions I’ve made. This program didn’t just teach—it transformed. The curriculum was rich with trauma-informed principles, practical tools, and compassionate frameworks that resonated deeply with my clinical experience and entrepreneurial spirit. What I appreciated most was how the course honored both the science and the soul of mental health care. It gave me a deeper understanding of behavioral health, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication—skills I now use daily to support clients and uplift my team. The trauma-informed lens was especially powerful, reinforcing my commitment to healing-centered care that respects dignity and lived experience. This course is a foundational step in my journey toward becoming a Psychiatric Nurse. It strengthened my resolve to provide holistic, emotionally intelligent care and to advocate for those navigating trauma, addiction, and identity challenges. MedCerts made the learning accessible, engaging, and relevant to the real-world settings I serve. If you're called to make a difference in mental health—especially through trauma-informed care—this course is more than a credential. It’s a catalyst.

Learned quite a few important things, yes, and I'm thankful for them, thus the four stars. A good primer for the field. But what really took me out and nearly stopped me from finishing this course was the "assignments" that had to be done on a computer, usually for key terms, and when I got there it would be information that could otherwise have been very easily be accessed in a 10 minute reading, but that would instead be fed in a very specific and immovable order by an AI voiceover. Multiple times I thought about the "this meeting could be an email" meme, and I am thankful my other courses do not demand I haul my computer out to access a plugin that tells me what a listicle could have told me much faster. Positive uses of the computer assignments often included simulated client/practitioner dialogue though, so I will give them that. Based on my own experiences in mental health and customer service, I do not necessarily think clients will be quite as easy to reason with as this, but it's an important start.

interesting as a source of ideas but best quality is aesthetics. unstructured and unscientific, relying heavily on patronising analogies, and not providing any references other than the (very questionable) DSM-5.
