This module covers cloud computing models and AWS Global Infrastructure. Learners will explore cloud service and deployment models, AWS regions, availability zones, and edge locations. The AWS Free Tier will also be introduced to experiment with AWS services at no cost.
Learners will explore the essentials of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), including users, roles, policies, and groups, which are the core parts of this module. Additionally, IAM-related services such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) will be introduced to manage AWS resources.
Learners will explore computing concepts related to Amazon EC2, including instance management and AMI (Amazon Machine Image) handling. They will also examine EC2 storage options, Amazon FSx for file systems, and AWS Batch for batch processing. By the end of this module, learners will be able to efficiently manage and deploy computing resources on AWS.
Learners will be introduced to Amazon S3, which covers essential topics such as bucket creation, policy management, versioning, and advanced features. They will also explore Cross-Region Replication, S3 storage classes, and Lifecycle Policies. By the end of this module, learners will be equipped to manage data on Amazon S3 securely and efficiently.
This module covers the essentials of Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), including their benefits, components like subnets and route tables. It also equips the learners with advanced VPC concepts such as VPC peering and AWS Transit Gateway. Additionally, learners will explore load balancing and auto-scaling, including creating and managing network load balancers, and setting up auto-scaling groups.
This module is designed to assess an individual on the various concepts and teachings covered in this course. Evaluate your knowledge with a comprehensive graded quiz on Identity, Compute, Storage, Networking, Load Balancing, and Auto Scaling services in AWS.

This course provides an overview of cloud computing and the AWS ecosystem. It covers key AWS services, including Identity and Access Management (IAM) for secure access control and Amazon EC2 for scalable computing resources. Learners will also explore Elastic Block Store (EBS) for persistent storage and Amazon S3 for scalable object storage. Also, they will implement secure, scalable networking solutions using VPC. The course emphasizes practical skills for deploying and managing cloud-based applications. By the end, learners will be equipped to leverage these AWS services effectively for cloud solutions.
Who is this course designed for?
This course is specifically designed for freshers and professionals in the cloud computing field, including cloud engineers, cloud architects, and AWS solutions architects. It is also ideal for individuals who aspire to enter the cloud industry or expand their knowledge of cloud technologies.
Do I need prior experience with AWS and SQL?
Prior working experience with AWS and SQL is advantageous and offers a valuable foundation for this course. However, proficiency in these concepts is not obligatory.
What will I learn from this course?
In this course, learners will gain an understanding of cloud computing fundamentals and how to leverage AWS services effectively. They will learn to manage access with IAM, deploy and configure scalable virtual servers using EC2, and utilize Amazon EBS for persistent storage. Additionally, they will explore Amazon S3 for scalable object storage, develop secure networking solutions using VPC, and understand how these services integrate to build a secure and efficient cloud infrastructure.
What is the duration of this course?
This course is designed to span approximately six weeks, with each week comprising roughly 2-3 hours of learning. Throughout this course, learners will engage with various educational resources, including video content on AWS, reading materials to deepen understanding, graded quizzes to assess comprehension, and thought-provoking discussion prompts to encourage collaborative learning and critical thinking.
Will I learn about AWS security best practices?
The course covers identity and access management (IAM), encryption, VPC security, monitoring, and compliance essentials. You’ll also learn how to apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles to build secure and reliable cloud applications.
How will this course prepare me for cloud-related job roles?
The course builds skills in compute, storage, networking, databases, and security on AWS, aligning with roles like Cloud Engineer, Solutions Architect, and DevOps Engineer. Completing the program provides hands-on knowledge that employers value in cloud-focused positions.
Are there any prerequisites for using AWS services during the course?
No prior AWS experience is required. However, familiarity with basic IT concepts such as networking, operating systems, and databases will be helpful. The course provides step-by-step guidance to help beginners get comfortable with AWS services.
What AWS migration tools are best for migrating databases vs migrating virtual machines?
For databases, AWS provides the Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool (SCT). For virtual machines and servers, the recommended tools are AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) and AWS Server Migration Service (SMS), which handle lift-and-shift migrations efficiently.
When will I have access to the lectures and assignments?
To access the course materials, assignments and to earn a Certificate, you will need to purchase the Certificate experience when you enroll in a course. You can try a Free Trial instead, or apply for Financial Aid. The course may offer 'Full Course, No Certificate' instead.
