I gave this class 3 stars and even though I wanted to give it 0. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because the instructor and the material was very good. Even though it was review for me I felt like the lessons were very informative and were a good refresher. Now the reason I wanted to give it 0 stars is because of the peer grading on the final project. This is garbage. The final assignment which says wether you pass the class or not is graded by others taking the class most of who don’t understand the assignment themselves. There is also a language barrier for most of the graders so you get no useful feedback. My first submission missed out on passing by 1 point and there was no intelligent reason why. The reason i got back was actually incorrect so I resubmitted the exact same project and passed easily.Hoping this gets better with more difficult courses.

Overall these courses were interesting. I do feel like I learned a bit and am more comfortable using ArcGIS. I will say though that I was not super impressed with the structure of this specialization. I felt that many times the instructor would skim over topics and not really clarify or provide context. I would then have to answer quiz questions related to those. I also was not impressed with structure of the assignments and all the grammatical errors. Finally, I had a hard time following one of the instructors. They seemed uncomfortable and didn't really explain things well.

I feel like this course was more difficult than it should have been. Certain topics went really in depth and the instructor would say things like , "I don't expect you to know this yet, but this is the tool to use for this situation," as an example. Many basic things were glanced over, while doing too deep into topics that interested the instructor like spatial analysis tool. Overall, I still learned a lot and it was fun to work on my own project.

The course was decent however, there were some issues with the final peer reviewed assignment. The instructions were not detailed enough and involved using a geoprocessing tool that hadn't been demonstrated in previous modules. I also disagreed with my peer review after my first attempt and there were no comments provided which made it difficult to make improvements.

It's a dense subject, but I think there could have been more written summaries after the videos and specific troubleshooting walkthroughs. The wording in the quizzes and assignments sometimes felt disjointed from the lessons. I appreciate I had the chance to practice GIS though.

Quiet good introduction with clear objectives.

Some step by step explanations could be shortened because they seem too detailed.

A brief introduction to creating your own data could be great and will cover more steps

Content is good, but video and document quality are lacking. There are a lot of typos and filler/nervousness in speech that could have been cleaned up.

The course is very intresting. I really appreciate the opportunuty given to me through finantial aid

Focuses mainly on ArcGIS tool whereas the objective of this course should be to explain GIS concepts.

Avoid this course. It starts off promising but quickly unravels. The quality nosedives after module 1 and culminates in a frustrating final assignment. There is no help in the discussion forum. There is no contact to any instructors or administrators. Key topics like ‘metadata’ are scattered across multiple videos, making it hard to backtrace and find the information later when needed. Some content is way outdated, and you’re asked to go check out a website that has been closed for 5 years. The final assignment is a nightmare, especially for beginners. The first two task is using geoprocessing tools that hadn't been demonstrated beforehand. It’s complicated, with instructions written in a confusing disjointed manner. I almost gave up. The peer review process is a joke. I managed to both fail and ace the same assignment. Reviewing others’ work revealed blatant copy-pasting and nonsensical answers, making the whole process feel like a scam. Save yourself the headache and find a better course.

the course content is interesting, engaging and well-presented. however, there have been issues with missing videos and poorly ordered content and assignments that have made it very difficult to proceed even to halfway with the course. if the missing content and ordering issues are fixed, i think i see this as a 5-star course

This class needs to updated to account for newer ArcGIS technology. Peer review can be frustrating, as peers have different versions of ArcGIS and cannot open newer ArcGIS documents. Content is not engaging. It would be helpful to have quizzes and activities that directly intersperse with and relate to the lecture versus an hour or so of lecture followed by a quizzes. I do not feel like I was immersed in meaningful learning.

The assigmentes after every lesson was step-by-step conducted, but que final lesson was "do yourself", with diferents topic of the class.

They reprove me, but I have no explanation because the class finish at 31 and today 31 they say I have to switch the course. I fell really cehated and unsatisfy and I will not finish the specialization anymore.

Thos was the worst Cousera course that I did.
