课程概述

Get started with Git and GitHub in this self-paced, introductory course! You’ll become familiar with collaborative version control and popular Git platforms. Collaboration and social coding are crucial parts of contemporary Software Engineering practices and the DevOps culture. You will begin this course with an overview of Git and Github fundamentals and explore key Git concepts such as branching and repositories, as well as the use of Git commands. You will also learn and practice various Git concepts such as forking, cloning and merging workflows using hands-on labs. And you’ll learn to use GitHub to work effectively as a team, and perform common Git operations, from both the Web UI and command line. The course wraps up with a final project where you will start building your portfolio by creating and sharing a public/open-source GitHub project. By completing this course you will demonstrate your Git and Github skills as well as add a project to your resume! All hands-on activities in this course can be performed using web-browser based tools and interfaces. A very complete and dynamic course that develops learning how to operate GitHub, its history and the benefits for the community.

Narration and wording seems overly complex and is more confusing than it needs to be. I used the GitHub resources and it made a lot more sense and took less time...

Sometimes the assignments were really not that clear in module 3. But it was worthwhile and just needs a ot of practicing.

Good but the tutorials are a bit confusing, would be wiser to have videos instead of these step by step on the labs

confusing wrt. the Lab (slow, buggy) CLI, vs. the upstream and origin repos on Github (no CLI commands)

Need to make the exercises more dynamic, and also update the commands. Some of them are very obsolete

The course is patchy, missing instructions, the examples could be improved.

Terrible last assignment/project. This needs a lot more oversight.

As an already experienced Git user, it is hard to say how much a beginner would learn from this course. The final assignment was frustrating, both in the lack of clarity in the wording of the tasks and especially in the form where answers are entered. It is also peer graded, so final grading is up to interpretation of someone course takers have no way to communicate with.

Content was great. Too many hoops to jump through to prove I can follow directions. What was the purpose of asking for titles and captions for URLs to prove I did the work? Just a lot of hoops for no good reason.

Would be a much better and more complete course if there were video demos of how to use the Git command line. The labs were hard to follow and complete without demos. I had to go to LinkedIn Learning to get demos.
