Participants explore the foundations of cultural intelligence (CQ) what it is, why it matters, and how it enables better communication, collaboration, and decision-making in multicultural environments. Learners examine how to adapt to new cultural contexts, navigate differences in values and behaviours, and recognise the four stages of culture shock that individuals commonly experience when entering unfamiliar environments. The module introduces key cultural parameters that shape how people think, act, and interact, helping learners better anticipate and respond to cross-cultural dynamics. A significant part of the module focuses on leadership within multicultural teams. Through case studies, role-play simulations, and reflective exercises, learners develop practical strategies for fostering inclusion, managing cultural tensions, and creating environments where diverse perspectives are understood and valued. The module also guides learners in exploring their own cultural identity and understanding how it influences their leadership style, communication preferences, and workplace interactions.
