Some of the things expect you to develop a whole game design without ever really making a game and fully getting the terminology. More suited with people that do have some fundamentals in game design knowledge and the game process. Other than that its a great course. I loved it

Its quite a informative course and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but some practice quiz answers need to be looked at by the course creators and corrected. Discussions posts will give you an idea.

Great Course, but whenever someone unfairly grades you there is no immediate support, there's only the discussions panel for that module. I know because it happened to me just now today.

A course that briefly provides a base for game design. In general, everything is OK and suitable for those who don't know anything about game design at all.

quiz questions were lowkey bugged and asking to write a whole GDD for a game i haven't even started to develop is funny but i enjoyed the process

This was a pretty comprehensive course, it asks quite a lot from you in terms of assignments, but it's worth your time if you lean into it.

The last assignment is quite heavy for what's shown on the course, but it's quite informative nonetheless.

I wish there would be more video parts of the tools and examples, but other than that, amazing course

Do not misinterpret the 3/5 stars - all the actual video material you get are superb and paint a understandable and useful picture of where to begin and what to expect in game development. The main problem are the (supposedly) AI generated questions that often completely miss the point of the respecting lecture and ask question whose answer where not only not mentioned in the material but so far off topic that you couldn't even solve them if you put every thought imaginable in there. It led to quite a few fails on my side, yet since correct answers are also not given to you, all you can do is guess what the AI wants from you and hope the next selection of questions do not ask you to fill out one of the absolutely dreaded question boxes the AI had the audacity to think they reflect the learning experience.

It's a fine course, though the written answers on some quizzes are extraordinarily hard to get the correct answer to - especially since the answers are meant to be found through research rather than from the course material. Given that the final course project is to write a Game Design Document, the course didn't teach very much specifically about writing them. The writing prompts for the GDD were quite good, but much bigger questions than can be answered in an 8 hour-estimated assignment. This could be re-designed to specifically write an early-concept GDD, only including basic ideas to expand upon later. I believe that was the intention but the template and teachings did not make that clear.

The material covered is excellent and the assignments were useful, but the quiz/testing system is broken beyond belief. Clearly was not Q/A'd and caused a serious slowdown in learning, especially for those who are on a limited time budget. The word detection for fill in the blank questions is asinine and simply does not work, and some of the multiple choice questions have zero relation to the course material.

A relatively small amount of informational in the videos, and huge assignments. They are a bit out of proportion and feel overwhelming after only viewing the basics in 3 minute videos. Still, these are core concepts and definitely worth learning. The assignment pushes you to think about your game's elements that you had not thought of yet.

The final Game Design Document submission was a pain as it was the first one I have ever done, and showing so much information about my game to my peers before I even have a demo is really scary. That being said, I did learn a lot and grateful to have the opportunity to complete a Game Design Document.

Some of the quiz questions through out did not relate to what was discussed prior, which meant I would have top fail a quiz and then do outside research to better understand and pass. Personally the videos could have been longer in each section to touch on these missed areas in the quiz.
