Great orientation to the pluses and minuses of drone use for environmental research. Having an overview of the rules and regulations along with the subtle and obvious ways drones can affect the study subject(s) are absolutely necessary to be a competent and responsible researcher. Lessons were comprehensive and instruction friendly and clear.

Through this course I achieved everything I have planned. It became the start point for some of my future plans. All the materials provided during weeks were cristal clear, which helped me to easy understand as non-native English speaker. The last but not the least, that course had the quality I expected as Duke University course.

I think this is one of the best courses that you can take if you really want to learn about this topic and more!

This was a good course but I was hoping to get more info on how people are currently using drones for e-data, This course has a heavy focus on ethics and drone anatomy, also some good things like laws and safety. I do feel they focused a bit too much on the ethics though.

Drones can be deployed in a variety of environments, quickly relaying information about ongoing site conditions to their operators. They have a minimal impact on the environment and can operate for extended periods while traversing large distances. By utilizing various sensors, drones provide detailed information about a site, capturing essential data with precision. The class also emphasized that piloting the drone is the easy part; the real challenge lies in skillfully processing the data and making it accessible to a broader audience.

This course is very relevant to my work and my career growth. The materials are well-made and the resources provided are very useful to me right now. I encourage environmental science students who use drones (or are planning to use drones) for their research to take this course.
