Nice course and good explanation for building some big pictuce.

The course covered key topics for future database technology trends. The instructors provided all relevant information. My reservation about the course is the peer graded assignments. I think the school needs to come up with a better grading system and that way all students would be equally assessed for the point they deserved. Other than that, I have enjoyed the course.

Solid course and intro to NoSQL systems, good way to round out the course series. If anyone wants to follow up some additional courses include the Big Data Specialization from UCSD, Data at Scale from UW, and the 4th course for Python for Everybody from UMICH. All 3 are on coursera.

A very good introduction to data warehousing, data cubes, big data and NoSQL. Found some of the information, especially data cubes, a little abstract and would have liked a hands-on example, even a screen shot or two of an application in a lecture slide would be helpful. A lot covered in the course but nowhere near as hands-on as the SQL course, which I enjoyed a little more. Still, a very good overview or those unfamiliar with the concepts and good as introductory content.

Peer-graded assignments will take several days (if not weeks) to be graded. If your subscription/trial is ending then it might happen that the diploma for the whole specialization may not be generated.

Requiring every learner to grade four assignments is a hassle. Due to this good feedback is not provided for assignments as graders just skim through the answers. Keep it down to 1 or 2

Good overview of database technologies, especially NoSQL databases. But it's pretty high level.

Good overview on current trends in Data storage technologies

The content is good, however the course is almost 100% based on on peer-reviewed essays. This might have been okay a few years ago, but now you have to sink far too much time into "reviewing" ChatGPT responses. The course needs to be updated to use more appropriate evaluation methods.

It is near impossible to get the peer reviews needed in this course.... It's legitimately the only thing holding me back from my completion
